TITANIC SINKER - SEED PACKET
Client: Rusted Acres Farm
Role: Naming, Illustration, and Packaging Design
Concept & Design Approach
This seed packet design was created for a rare heirloom tomato variety originally known as "Kentucky White." I collaborated with the farmer to develop a more distinctive name, ultimately landing on Titanic Sinker—a nod to both the tomato’s large, weighty nature and its unique pale color.
Typography & Aesthetic
I selected Scrapbooker Family to enhance the vintage feel, reminiscent of early 20th-century ephemera, reinforcing the historical reference to the Titanic. This choice lends a handcrafted charm while maintaining legibility for a modern audience.
Color Palette
A nautical-inspired palette grounds the design, featuring deep blues, cool grays, and soft neutrals. These colors subtly allude to the oceanic theme while ensuring the packet stands out in a farmstand or specialty market setting.
